Our Mighty Acorns program is modeled after European forest Kindergartens, where children are immersed in nature, rain or shine, for child-led, nature-based play. Our goal is to facilitate play and STEAM-inspired learning by providing developmentally appropriate tools and materials alongside autonomy for children to explore their own interests at their own speed.
Adult supervision and assistance are always provided, but we seek to minimize adult interference when possible.
What to Expect:
A typical day begins with circle time, where we have tea and engage in songs around the campfire. From there, things vary a great deal depending on the season and weather, and most of all, on the children's preferences. We may head to the forest for fort-building and art-making, or to the creek to cool our feet and investigate rocks. There is a lot of variety, but one thing that all days have in common is that we have fun and we get dirty! Our day runs from 10am-2:30pm, with a snack break at 11am and lunch at 12:30pm.
This is a drop-off program.
