Nature provides so much inspiration for the arts and offers the perfect immersive experience to learn about Appalachian and Indigenous cultures. In each session, students will engage in storytelling, creative writing, nature journaling, art technique and instruction, and music exploration, instilling in them a sense of place and a way to express their interactions with their natural surroundings.
What to Expect:
Classes meet from 10am-1pm and are under the care and supervision of their teacher during this time. Students should pack a lunch and snacks to eat during class. Students are then returned to their caregiver’s supervision for free play from 1-3pm. Caregivers are asked to remain on-site for the duration of the day; this is not a drop-off program. Siblings younger than 5 are invited to stay on site with their parents.
Cost
Members: $305 for first child, $165 per additional child ages 5+
Non-Members: $340 for first child, $185 per additional child ages 5+
